Andy spent nearly seven years at Compare the Market, one of the UK's largest price comparison platforms, where insurance, energy, and financial products are won and lost in search. He was Head of SEO, then led Web Experience and SEO Intelligence. He owned the organic growth roadmap, grew channel revenue 37% year over year off the back of a new operating model, and held position one for terms like car insurance and credit cards. He also defined the company's approach to AI search readiness before most brands had noticed the shift. His team won Best In-House Team at the UK Search Awards.
Before that he led search agency side at iProspect and Croud, for brands including ASOS, Nestlé, General Motors, Timberland, Vans, and Specsavers.
He has built teams of five and teams of fifty. His view is that a strategy no engineer picks up is just a document, and most of his best work has come from getting search, product, UX, and data to want the same thing.
He judges the UK and Global Search Awards, now in his third year. Before any of it he taught scuba diving in Southeast Asia, which turned out to be decent preparation for explaining AI search to a board.
